Sep 16 is the Birth Anniversary of MS

Here is the link to an article in the Hindu about celebrations in Madurai to celebrate the birth anniversary of MS.

A couple of days back I stumbled upon a bunch of old Madras photographs by Glenn Hensley, an American soldier, who was stationed there in 1945. As I went through them, I was stunned to discover a picture of MS Subbulakshmi with Sadasivam and Ellis R Dungan on the sets of Meera.

I had no idea it was her birthday.

Thanks for sharing this link. We were aware of this picture and even think there is a link to it on www.msstribute.org. You may also like to read Duggan's biography which includes a chapter on his experience making the film Meera and working with the Sadasivams.
